Lead artist on a new build health care centre in Hull. The centre was built on the site of a ruined church so there were particular sensitivities to consider when working with the community. Due to the artistic intervention in the building we were able to salvage some elements of the church building and incorporate these into the new build.
Overseeing of entire design concept and colour consultancy. Liaising with builder, developer, stakeholders and community. Working with glass artist Jackie Hunt and a mosaic artist, I also create printed images for the foyer and each consultancy room, designed manifestations for the front windows based on workshop ideas from a women’s group. With writer Miles Salter, I produced a waiting room magazine containing stories, photos and artwork from the community and from the church site upon which the health centre was built.
